Elastomeric seals are subdivided by design into gaskets, rings, collars, rings and collars with springs, gates, valves, wipers and various combined seals including several seals. The mechanism of sealing of these seals is primarily connected with highly elastic properties of rubber - the material of the seal, which provides a tight contact between the surfaces at low contact pressure. The use of these seals makes it possible to seal relatively roughly machined surfaces with low forces on the joint parts. The unique properties of rubber make it possible to create highly hermetic, simple, cheapest and most versatile seals compatible with most working and ambient environments. The simplicity of design results from the possibility of combining in one part (seal) all functional elements of the structural scheme of a contact seal.
The first products of our company were RTP, rubber seals, both standardised and manufactured according to customer’s samples and designs including rings, gaskets, reinforced diaphragms, couplings, etc. Nowadays the share of manufactured RTP in the total volume of Constanta-2 LLC production is very high, new standard sizes and types of seals, including import-substituting products, are mastered every quarter; standard products, such as rings, chevron seals, glands, diaphragms and spools, including spare parts for units and equipment manufactured in the USSR, remain relevant. In recent years, the number of large-size products produced has increased. Seals with diameters from 500 mm to 1700 mm are in demand by Russian manufacturers of equipment for power engineering and oil and gas production.
Elastomer products are manufactured in the rubber products shop, which is a separate production unit. This unit has several production areas that ensure preparation of rubber compound ingredients, mixing, rolling of the compound, moulding of blanks and vulcanisation of finished products. RTI production is fully supplied with equipment from shredders and mixers to presses, which allows us to implement most of the technologies of working with elastomers, including injection moulding, that significantly reduces the cost of high-volume production. We manufacture elastomer products for our customers on the basis of any raw materials from general purpose rubbers to highly resistant fluorocarbon, fluorosilicone, chlorobutyl rubber, polyurethanes and other special purpose materials. Moreover, our specialists are able to customise the selection of raw materials for our customers, taking into account the operating conditions. This allows us to optimise the operation of assemblies that use components manufactured by Constanta-2 LLC.
