In 2007, Constanta-2 registered the trademark Constakor® comprising a number of materials designed in cooperation with Volgograd State Technical University. Constakor series includes proprietary cold- and hot-set rubberizing compounds and the anticorrosive coating resurfacing and conditioning compositions. Application technique of most liquid materials is quite simple and user-friendly, with minimum requirements to surface preparation and personnel qualification. This saves the time and ensures high reliability of the resulting protective coat. Coatings with Constakor® demonstrate 10 to 15 years of excellent performance and high chemical resistance.
The product line we offer is a good anticorrosion solution for power industry, food-processing, chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical and machine-building plants. Manufacturability and easy application of the coatings facilitate and improve the quality of anticorrosion works. For several years, Constakor proprietary coatings have been successfully used both to protect new equipment and renovate existing installations.
Constakor TEP® (Patent No. 2315075, TU 2513-003-34244672-2007) is a two-component cold-set rubberizing compound based on diene styrene thermoplastic elastomer and intended for the coatings rated to рН 2-14 at -15°С to +95°С. The compound has been designed to replace rubberizing sheets in the protection of different vessels, for instance solution storage tanks, chemical water treatment tanks, pipelines and the anion-exchange, cation-exchange and combined-action filters. Constakor-TEP can be applied even to heavily pitted metal and concrete surfaces.
This material applies in 8 to 10 coats, each coat being dried up to 800 µm, to obtain a resulting coating similar in its performance to the conventional 3.5 to 4 mm thick rubber sheeting.
New equipment can be factory-coated and shipped at temperatures to -25°С.
Service life: 10-15 years.
Constakor-TEP can be used as a sole coating material or as the main component of Constakor and Constakor LIGHT anticorrosion systems. Constakor anticorrosion system is a three-component protective coating extending the service life of the equipment. It is recommended for factory-coating of new vessels to be shipped to and stored at the final location. The components are Constakor-Primer for maximum adhesion, Constakor-TEP for protection proper, and Constakor-Protect enamel for preservation before putting into operation. This system can be applied to equipment exposed to more severe conditions (e.g., concentrated solutions, moderate abrasion).

Constakor LIGHT is the anticorrosive coating option recommended for equipment operated in gentle conditions with low corrosiveness and zero abrasion, for instance, neutralization tanks. Constakor LIGHT system consists of a primer coat and 4 to 6 coats of Constakor-TEP instead of the conventional 8 to 10 coats. This significantly saves materials, labor and costs.

Constakor–AQUA® (TU 2513-014-34724672-2010) is a single-component rubberizing composition based on Constakor-TEP and intended for metal surfaces of potable/sanitary water facilities. The edge over other available epoxy compositions consists in a higher resistance to acids and alkalis, improved elasticity enabling to maintain vessel protective coating’s continuity despite operational strains, durability resulting from enhanced mechanical and adhesion strength and good resistance to erosive action of the fluid (slurry).
Operating media are as for Constakor TEP above; operating temperatures: -15°С to +60°С.
Safety and Health Certificate for the material is available.
Application is similar to painting. For maximum performance and durability of the coating, the protective composition should be underlain with Constakor-AQUA primer.
Constakor SEBS® is a single-component rubberizing material intended for metal surfaces exposed to acids, alkalis (see the table) and oxidizing solutions (hypochlorites, 20% nitric acid) at -15°С to +95°С
Cold-set touch-up compound Constakor-Prom® is a two-component composition designed for spot repair and resurfacing of rubber coatings. This is the quick and efficient way to return the equipment to operation.
Constakor SKMS - improved rubber sheets for conventional rubber coating. Constakor SKMS sheets are designed for chemical water treatment facilities exposed to continuous abrasion.
Constakor–EXTREME Line® - hydrocarbon rubber (chlorobutyl rubber) sheets. Constakor–EXTREME Line coatings are designed for the etching and metal-coating (for instance galvanization) equipment and tanks at metallurgical facilities; water treatment equipment at power-generating and machine-building plants; chemical and petrochemical factories. The coatings can withstand occasional or continuous action of highly corrosive fluids, e.g. inorganic acids and solutions, acid mixtures and oxidizers, at high temperatures. The table below provides details of fluids and operating modes for the equipment protected with Constakor-EXTREME Line.
