Hydraulic elevators (ejectors)

Constanta-2 manufactures hydraulic elevators (ejectors) lined with polymer composites. UHMWPE composite-based lining is intended for very corrosive fluids with a large content of abrasive particles (pulp). Fluoropolymer composite-based lining enables to mix chemicals and dissolve 200°C and hotter acids and alkalis.

Hydraulic elevator (ejector) is a jet pump that lifts and pipes liquids and hydraulic mixtures. Hydraulic elevator operation uses the energy of the pressurized water jet delivered to the nozzle. Ejector consists of nozzle, delivery chamber, mixing chamber and diffusor.

The high-speed liquid jet passing through the wetted part creates negative pressure at the nozzle outlet. This pushes the transferred material to the mixing chamber. The resulting mixture from the mixing chamber is driven by the working fluid to the diffusor. In the diffusor, the mixture slows down while its pressure increases as part of the jet kinetic energy is transformed into the potential energy of flow. This ensures transfer of the mixture through the pipelines. Hydraulic elevator is a structurally simple device without moving components, but its efficiency does not exceed 20-25%.

Hydraulic elevators (ejectors) are widely used as mixing devices in chemical and oil-refinery applications. They can also be used for short-distance delivery of materials (within several hundred meters) in the course of mining and civil works; for slime removal at ore concentration mills; sludge and ash removal from boiler houses and power plants; and for sand or crushed stone handling.

Ejectors can be used, in particular, at chemical water treatment plants to deliver regenerating solutions to the filters or to replace metering pumps for batching out chemicals into the water prior to filtration.
