Polymer tube

Polymer tubes are used as components of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, for moving aggressive media of various types, as well as components of various products (Constanta-2 LLC widely uses polymer tubes as sheaths for encapsulated rings). In spite of the lower strength and pressure withstanding capacity compared to metal tubes, as well as often higher cost, polymer tubes are widely used due to their lower weight, ease of installation and maintenance. Moreover, they do not require anti-corrosion treatment. At the same time, there are areas of industry where the use of polymer tubing is not alternative (e.g. medicine).

Types of polymer tubes produced by Constanta-2 LLC:
  1. Polyurethane tubes are used in operations with gaseous and liquid substances and for connection of components of pneumatic systems at standard pressure, where lightness, elasticity and flexibility of the tubes are required (especially at low temperatures below -30°C, at excessively high temperatures above +80°C "bloating" is possible). At the same time they are abrasion-resistant and resistant to mechanical effects (bending, squeezing, twisting) and quickly return to their original shape). Polyurethane tubes are also resistant to oils, fuels, solvents and ozone, but not to alkalis and acids. Polyurethane air tube is non-toxic and can be used in food processing and medical applications.
  2. Polyethylene tubes. Due to the fact that polyethylene is an easy material to manufacture and a universal polymer in the industry, its products, including polyethylene tubes, are the cheapest. However, the conditions for operation of polyethylene tubes should be milder - low working pressure and temperature regime between -10°C and +60°C. At the same time pneumatic tubes from polyethylene are resistant to various chemical active substances (acid, alkali), but less flexible and elastic than polyurethane tubes.
  3. Polyamide tubes are used in mechanical engineering and have high strength and flexibility at temperatures between -40°C and +80°C with normal and elevated operating pressures. Polyamide pneumatic tubes are highly resistant to ozone, gases, various oils, fuels and ultraviolet.
  4. Fluoroplastic (Teflon) tubes are the most resistant to acids and alkalis of all types of tubes. These tubes are used in aggressive media and operating temperatures from -196°C to +250°C according to the grade of fluoroplastic used.
  5. Polyester tubes are used with neutral gases or compressed air.
  6. PVC or polyvinyl chloride tubes are resistant to basic acids, fuels, wine, distilled, mineral and sea water, compressed air, operating temperature from -30°C to +80°C. PVC tube is very widespread in industry and households, especially for non-pressure transport of gaseous, liquid, bulk substances. It can also be used at food industry enterprises and in medicine.
