Composite seals

More than 20 years Constanta-2 LLC has been developing and producing composite seals. These are products which successfully complete each other and combine properties of several materials, for example: plastics and rubbers or polymers and metal tabs. This trend had already been initiated in our company at the end of the 90s and was connected with import substitution.

The problem solved with the help of composite seal was the problem of mechanical seals of pumps as the sealing ring should work reliably under conditions of variable media in this equipment, and the majority of rubbers do not give such possibility, at the same time the known material of universal resistance, fluoroplastic, does not provide sufficient reliability of the seal because of its ‘fluidity’ under load. Combination of two materials properties such as resistance of fluoroplastic, taken as a contact shell of the product, and elasticity of rubbers, used as an elastic core, led to the creation of rubber-fluoroplastic ring (RFR). The method of production of this product is patented by the employees of our company, and "Konstanta-2" Ltd. is the only Russian manufacturer of these products. Rubber ring in a seamless fluoroplastic shell is now serially distributed in cryogenic equipment, pumping equipment, units of food equipment, flow sensors and other devices.
